New Grant Opportunity for FQHCs: Expanded Hours Program​


The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced a new grant opportunity for Fiscal Year 2025 under the Expanded Hours (EH) program, designed to increase access to health center services by extending operating hours. This funding, amounting to $60 million, aims to support around 120 new grants, with each grant providing up to $500,000 annually.

Key Details:

- Application Deadlines: 

  • Phase 1: Submit via Grants.gov by June 24, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET
  • Phase 2: Submit supplemental information via HRSA EHBs by July 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET

- Eligibility: Current Health Center Program operational (H80) grant award recipients.

- Funding Scope: Grants can be used for minor alterations/renovations and equipment costs up to $150,000 in the first year.

- Project Period: December 1, 2024, through November 30, 2026 (2 years).


Application Requirements:
1. Project Abstract and Narrative: Applicants must outline how the proposed extended hours will meet the needs of their community and patients.
2. Budget: Detailed budget proposal showing both federal and non-federal funding sources.
3. Compliance: All proposals must align with Health Center Program requirements and federal regulations.
